The Gummys team is growing every day, and today we are happy to announce the addition of a new team member to our brilliant group of Web 3.0 innovators.

Tejas Chopra, Engineering Lead at Netflix, has joined the Gummys team as Tech Mentor and Advisor, after spending two years at the world’s leading video streaming service. Tejas has also spent time developing software solutions for such leading brands as Apple, Samsung, and Box, and brings his valuable experience in tech and entertainment to the Gummys project.

In Tejas’s own words:

“I am an Engineering Leader at Netflix, where I work on architecting solutions for building Netflix studios in the Cloud. I have more than a decade of experience working on infrastructure at companies such as Apple, Samsung, Box. I am a TedX and an International speaker and I provide my thoughts on Blockchain, Web3, Cloud architectures.

What I really like about Gummys is how it is leveraging blockchain to provide security, and incentives to participants in a network, thus redefining how content is consumed in the future. I believe in the vision of an open system of streaming content that shares user data and distributes the ad revenue amongst participants of the network. It is truly revolutionary in its goals and the team behind it has the pedigree to build this product.

I am very excited to mentor and advise them on the technical front, and look forward to delighting our customers.”

Tejas’s decision to branch out from the Web 2.0 space and embark on a journey into the world of Web 3.0 follows a recent trend which has seen numerous employees from high-profile companies such as Google, Amazon, YouTube, and now Netflix, choose to move into the decentralized technology arena.

Gummys represents the core aspects of the decentralized Web 3.0 space with its transparency, autonomy, security, incentivization, and its vision to champion freedom of speech and avoid arbitrary censorship of user content.

Gummys founder and CEO Pasquale Sorrentino welcomed the addition of Tejas to the team, adding:

“The knowledge and experience Tejas brings to the team after years working for such high-profile companies as Apple, Samsung and Netflix only stands to benefit Gummys, and will help us achieve our vision of creating a truly decentralized video streaming platform that’s curated by its user base.”
